The idea

Phones sample speaker sweeps at several room positions to compare acoustic response, locate hotspots, and explore speaker or listener configurations.

How it works

  1. Play a known sweep through a speaker and record it at measured positions around the room.
  2. Align sample timing and positions, then compute and compare each acoustic response.
  3. Visualize measured hotspots and test how candidate speaker or listener positions change the sampled result.

AI’s role: Summarize measured room responses and suggest configurations to compare; conventional signal processing computes impulse responses from recorded sweeps.

First demonstration

Play one speaker sweep, record it at a few marked positions, and repeat each measurement to compare consistency with a reference recording.

What to solve next

How do consumer microphone response, automatic gain, clock latency, and calibration affect repeatability compared with dedicated measurement equipment?
